65th SHOOT TIME AT MANISTEE

June 28-29, 2025

Dear Fellow Muzzleloader,

The Manistee Clan Muzzle Loading Club invites you and your family to attend one of the best muzzle loading shoots in the country, the 65th annual “SHOOT TIME AT MANISTEE RENDEZVOUS", an event to remember and a tradition to keep.  Mark your calendar for this year’s event which will be held on June 28th and 29th, 2025, at OLD FORT RENDEZVOUS on Camp Road, south of Manistee.  There will be a Military match held for early campers on Friday, June 27th, 2025.  This match is held separate in conjunction with Shoot Time with a separate $10.00 entry fee with shooting awards immediately following the match.  Bring any type of military gun in “as issued condition or modified” along with 50 rounds of ammunition.

At 2:00 P.M. Friday, at the 200 yard range, campers and shooters will be treated to an "Introduction to "Muzzle Loading Heavy Bench Round Ball Rifles" by Ira Thumma. Ira will introduce you to an almost forgotten form of Muzzle Loading Shooting and give everyone interested a chance to shoot one for the cost of powder and ball.

Our Kitchen will be open and staffed by Chef Linda Palmer and crew on: Friday at 5:00 P.M. for supper, Saturday at 6:30 A.M. for breakfast, 12:00 noon for lunch and 5:00 P.M. for supper.  Sunday, the kitchen will be open for breakfast at 6:30 A.M.

For your personal convenience we have showers and flushing toilets in the pavilion.

We strive to treat each guest shooter and camper to a weekend of relaxed low pressure shooting and camping enjoyment.  We bring you a shoot with clay breakable targets which are visible with each hit.

Remember to bring all of your guns, we have matches for muzzle loading rifle, pistol, rifled musket and smoothbore, and modern military guns.  Pack all and have a good time at the 65th Shoot Time at Manistee Rendezvous.

Our shoot is set up with this idea in mind: no matter how hard you try you are not going to participate in all the shooting events.  This gives everyone an even chance to win an event… we relieve the pressure on the main range by having a woods walk. Slack time can be taken up at the tomahawk range or visiting the traders who come to sell their goods.

On Saturday evening after the last shot has been fired and as dusk sets in an awards ceremony follows by the 63rd annual ceremonial meeting of the Northwest Council around the campfire.  Bring your musical instruments and as darkness sets in, the camp comes alive with music and dancing under the roof of the pavilion til. Both Friday and Saturday evenings will be "Family Fun Nights" with events like a Flint and Steel Fire Starting Contest, Bingo, and music with dancing till the wee hours.

Sunday morning  we have a  program to give you a half day of shooting fun  and plenty of time left to break camp and head back home.

Where in the world can you have two days of shooting and camping enjoyment?  Pack your bags and come to the 65th Shoot Time at Manistee Rendezvous and enjoy a memorable weekend of shooting and camping.  DON’T MISS IT!

The fee for Shoot Time this year will stay at $45.00 for your entire family if you are camping (children under 19 years of age), or $40.00 for non campers. There are several motels within four miles of our camp.   Non shooting traders are welcome and have no registration charge.
